B-Pods® (the outer cup, inner filter and cap) are made of PP#5 (polypropylene) which is accepted for curbside recycling in a majorities of communities in the US, and there is a growing demand for it as a recycled material. Also the diameter is larger than two inches, which improves the potential to be recovered. However, because recycling pods takes effort (separating the material, disposing of the coffee, washing the pods) and because not all communities accept these items for recycling, we developed an alternative (and preferred) method, our Guilt Free Toss® option.
